Coloring Contest

Every spring, we hold a coloring contest where children can color in a fun animal picture or even draw their own! The top entry will receive a savings bond!

Entrants can pick up and submit their coloring page in the shop and will receive a prize just for submitting their entry. Completed entries will also be put on display inside the shop.

We also have a printable version available HERE

Betty Brinn Children's Museum

Join us April 8, 2011 through July 3, 2011 at the Betty Brinn Children's Museum in Milwaukee for our exhibit in their Home Town project.

The Home Town project uses role play in a variety of pretend businesses to help children explore the people, places and processes that make a community work.

Our exhibit includes model areas where children can design their own landscapes as well as view actual landscaping videos and photographs. Children will be able to feel the thrill of combining their creativity with nature and the society around them!

School & Scout Field Trips

Spring and Summer 2009 were exciting for us, as we were able to host outdoor field trips for a variety of classes in the Waukesha School District. We even had our first preschool visit! During the 2010 season, we welcomed Rose Glen's 2nd grade classes for the second year in a row.

We currently offer field trips as an "outdoor classroom" experience, geared toward 2nd and 5th grade levels. In the past, we've had visits from a variety of different age groups and we are looking to expand the program.

If you are an educator, Girl Scout or Boy Scout troop leader, or are involved in other youth activities, please contact us for more information.

Pumpkin Carving Contest

Halloween in October is a splendid event as children parade around in their favorite costumes in search for some sweet candy. But before that day arrives, a great Halloween tradition involves carving pumpkins.

In conjuction with the Noon Optimist Club of Waukesha, we host a pumpkin carving contest for the children in the community to bring out their inner creativity. Year after year we are treated to wonderful pumpkin designs and we hope that trend continues well into the future.
